Quality of Care at Gastro Clinic Draws Interest of National Organization

LITTLE ROCK, AR - GastroArkansas, founded in Little Rock more than 40 years ago, has been selected to join GI Alliance, the nation’s largest independent gastroenterology services organization. The partnership is the first of its kind in Arkansas and focused primarily on quality of care for patients.

“We are excited to bring on board GastroArkansas, a group of world-class physicians with stellar leadership,” said Jim Weber, M.D., CEO of GI Alliance. “GI Alliance has held true to its stringent criteria for partner group selection – which begin and end with an unwavering commitment to quality patient care. For every group that joins us, multiple others fall short of our standards.”

GI Alliance is a physician-led GI services organization supporting the needs of more than 315 independent gastroenterologists operating in Texas, Louisiana, Illinois, Arizona, Indiana, and now Arkansas. GastroArkansas was the first multi-physician gastroenterology practice established in Arkansas and is the largest independent group in the state today.

“The GI Alliance leadership and physician teams have built an incredible infrastructure upon which our 12 physicians, dedicated staff, and patient population can continue to flourish,” said Debra Morrison, M.D., GastroArkansas. “The most important factor in our decision-making process was the commitment to keep patient care as our shared primary focus. We’re very pleased to have found an organization that aligns well with the culture we’ve worked hard to build over several decades.”

GastroArkansas will continue to provide high-quality care in an independent manner while serving as a leader in gastroenterology care and working with other practices in Arkansas to establish the same level of care. Together GastroArkansas and the GI Alliance plan to raise the standard of care patients receive in all areas of the state.

“Providing high-quality gastroenterology care has been our passion for more than 40 years,” said Alisa Petet, Administrator, GastroArkansas. “We are so excited about the opportunities being a part of the GI Alliance brings to the advancement of quality care across the state. We know that our current patients and future patients will all benefit from this partnership.”
