David Backstedt, M.D.

Dr. David Backstedt graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a B.S in Biological Engineering in 2007. He went on to complete his medical degree in 2011 at LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Backstedt completed Internal Medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2014. In 2017, Dr. Backstedt completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. Additionally, he has presented at national conferences and is published in esteemed medical journals.

Dr. Backstedt is married and is excited to call Arkansas home. He enjoys traveling, working on his family’s cattle farm in Louisiana, college football, and running. Most importantly, Backstedt enjoys practicing Gastroenterology and is a passionate advocate for his patients.
